Hello there,

I know, everyone tells me, each application is different has a different processing time. But, it's in our nature to compare to others. I mean, if someone has sent his application and has the same situation (no former marriage, no kids, etc.), and you see that person getting processed faster, you ask yourself why?

How do you cope of not comparing with others or when people with the same situation and sent their applications later are getting processed faster. Don't you take it as not fair?

I am just feeling a little like this lately and I was wondering what you guys do to not think negatively.

Thanks for your input :)

probably depends on who looks at your application and how there weekend/night before/morning was. :p And probably also depends on little things too, like the proof you provide. At least thats what i think.

I agree with you. In my case, she is from not from a visa exempt country and she got one. She returned to her home country two weeks later. We also submitted a lot of pictures etc. anyways, one thing that is strange is that under my e-cas (the sponsor), it still says under permanent residence application : not available. But we received AOR early April and Bogota received it december 3rd 2010.

I guess e-cas is not well updated.

To all others, how do you cope?? PLease share your experience!

E-Cas is useless!

I totally understand where you are coming from, my wife's process has been going on since Jan 2010 and the average timeline on CIC website is 21 months :( My wife is in her 16th month and its getting very tough day by day. She is also not from VISA exept country, so about 90% of visiting VISA applications get denied there. It sucks big time...And on top of every thing you see people getting VISA that have filed after you makes me even more frustrated.

it is difficult for sure... we r close to send our application and it will be so difficult especially since our VO is one of the slowest comparing with others soo fast...also, i was finding very hard to digest the fact that we always got the visit visa rejected although it was so clear that he would not overstay comparing wih people who don't need a visa and many of them do overstay....from all these reasons i find CIC biased and racist

but at the end, think that every day passes u'll b a step closer and the day with her visa will eventually come; in general, for my own being i stop comparing our life and situation with others; we r happy with what we have and try our best for better...if it's something not in ur power to change there's no point to think and get heart ache

good luck!

Comparisons are odious. That's what I keep in mind. That when I start comparing myself and my application to others', I do nothing more than make myself unhappy. I feel discriminated against, especially when I consider how fast some visa offices are in comparison to the one I am going through, when I consider that we are all supposedly going through the same process and paid the same fees.

Eventually, I realise that making myself bitter by complaining about a process over which I have no control and ranting about discrimination gain me nothing. I only succeed in making myself feel worse than when I started.

So, I wait, and do my best not to compare.

hi guys...

i know it's hard not to compare processing times and we do it all the time even me. but the most important thing is don't listen so much to what others tell you. because i have been told that since i didn't pay my RPRF together when I paid my processing fee it would be extra two months. but really how do they know and who are they to say, they are not the V.O's. my paper's took 5 months and 10 days to get decision made and i didn't pay the landing fee they sent me a request to pay for it. where in fact there are a few of my fellow forumer's who had paid everything up front and no addt'l docs requested took 6 months - 9months...

so don't be too sad of what you hear or read... just think that you did everything and filled up everything there should be nothing to worry about!! cheer up to those still waiting to get DM and to those waiting for visa's! i know how agonizing the pain is of waiting but it'll come!!!

It's hard to not compare when the process seems so subjective at times. There are so many factors involved. For example, the visa officer we may have to have an interview with is notorious for being rude and tough. And then I hear about other VO's who are really nice. Does this seem fair that the final decision is made by someone who is cranky? We have no control over this except that we now know what he is like and so can prepare even more.

Anyway, good luck to all.

First of all.... Do not forget that "average time" means numbers...
10 applications take 5 month
10 takes 10 months...
average will be 7.5...
numbers... only numbers...
In averageland Mr X has 2 cars, Mr Y has no car...
average is 1 car per person (explain that to Mr Y)

Faster approval doesn't bring happier life...
Let's take what is there for each of us, try to get the most of every step,
know that we are lucky to have a group of people that really understand what we are going through,
and believe... love and wait... At least we have all that...

Mucha suerte! Y no se caigan, aunque nunca lo sepamos.... ya sufriremos la misma nevada!!!!
