Hello someone please help me..

I work as an insurance agent noc 6231 and I have a post graduate work permit expiring soon. This position is considered self employment and my employer takes taxes off and pays me on commission basis.

Due to the fact that it's a self employment basis, I can't apply through the CEC category. Therefore I'm just wondering if I can apply as a skilled worker.

Please do advise and thank you

Self employed persons are not exempt from applying unter FSW program. However a job contract and pay-slips are not sufficient, you must provide proof of the amount and kind of work that you do - that might be the difficult part. If you work for just one employer you will need proof of him hiring you in a statement set up by him, along with detailed information about the job itself and the payment.

However the NOC you mentioned is not coverd by MI-3 (FSW1) - therefore you need a job offer to apply under FSW-2. And I don`t think that FSW-2 covers self employment.

Thanks for your comment. I work for only 1 employer with an exclusive 1 employer condition in my employment agreement.
However I don't understand what you mean by FSW-2. I know the noc code is not part of the list of fast track occupations.
Please advise

FSW-2 is the part of the program which covers those with a job-offer (so you do not need to worry about the noc-list).
