Do I needed Health Insurance? (I'm Landing into Toronto for 1 Month)

Hi...

We are a family of 4 (2 kids)...

Planning to land into Toronto and stay there for 1 month, after which
we will travel back for 3 to 9 months... then will return and stay in Canada.

Do we need Health Insurance in this period (the stay in Toronto for 1 month)?

From where can I buy Insurance policy that covers me and my family in that period?

I know that Insurance is not activated until 3 months of your arrival? right?

It is advisable to get medical insurance. Ontario Health coverage (OHIP) will only apply after you have lived here for 3 months; but you can apply for the OHIP card when you land. Medical expenses can be very high if you end up paying for it yourself- especially in case of hospital stays and prescription medication. Even if you have insurance, you may have to make the payments first and then claim from the insurance company. You can try www.useblue.com (I had used this company). You can get online quotation based on age and coverage required. Also check if existing conditions are covered. I have also previously used 21st Century medical inusrance.
