do i need visa transit

hi all,,, im so glad finally Got my PR family sponsor,, we will fly to from Indonesia to Canada next month,,, and i see some flight from Indonesia we need transit in some country (Japan and USA). Do i need a visa transit? and what to do to get it,,,, thank you sooooo much for the answers,,, hope you ll get yours soo. have a great day

That depends on the countries through which you are travelling and the passport you're travelling on (I imagine Indonesian). Check the Japanese and US government websites.

You have to look on their website. But by experience (my wife flew from Thailand) You want to avoid USA because you will need a transit visa. Europe would be a good choice for transit, you won't need transit visa if you have a valid visa for your final destination and if you stay on the international side of the airport ( no european domestic flight).
