Do I need transit visa while travelling though London

I am looking for a flight from New Delhi to Toronto (British Airways) that has stopover (2 hours) in London (LHR). Can someone confirm please confirm if a transit visa is required

No you don’t,if you do not leave the airport premises.If,on the other hand you have the time and want to step out to visit London,yes,you will need a visa.10 years ago I was passing through and had 8 hours to kill.I was given 24hour visa to be able to get out of the airport and see London but mind you not everyone will get it.My sister stayed behind in the airport,I showed proof that I was coming back (was a student in my country,had no family in UK,etc).So no ties in UK,plenty pf reasons to continue my journey and get home (was coming back from the states to my eastern european home country)
