Do I need to wait before getting married in Canada?

I have a PR since Sept 2018 and now settled and working in Canada.

My girlfriend has been granted a 10 year visitor visa and she is planning to come in Sept and we plan to get married after 2 weeks.

Is that okay? Or too soon? Should she come sooner than the planned wedding date?

I will be filing for inland spousal visa. I read online that mainly the cic checks if the relationship is genuine. I have plenty of proof for that - vacation photos, her trip to India to meet my family, whatsapp messages / phone records, plus the wedding ceremony photos that we will take.

Not at all. As long as you have all the proof that you were in a serious relationship before the wedding then I think it's fine. It would help a lot too if you will include supporting letters from family and friends. Start opening a joint bank account send the statement of account to the same address under your both names. Get a life insurance that you have both your names as beneficiary to each other. Add her name of your hydro bill, cable etc. this way you have the same address. Hope this help.

Perfect! We plan to file for spousal PR after 2-3 weeks of getting married. In that time, I will get her a phone connection on my address, open a joint bank account (not sure how that works for spouses on visitor visas but i'll ask the Banker) or in the least, add her as an authorised user on my credit card.

Yes, TD was able to open us a joint account even though my common law partner has a visitor visa. I was able to add him as well as my secondary credit card user. (we opt for hard copy delivery for the monthly statement of account) but make sure that you are using the debit card and the credit card. Also, get her a photo card at any Service Ontario office so she has the same address with you.

What is a Photo Card? Also, if you don't mind me asking, when you submitted the PR application for your spouse, was there any obstacles after that? I mean did they ask for more paperwork, or interviews, etc

A photo card is a card that you can use as an Identification card. But the only thing though is if your fiancé has a drivers license then they might ask her/him if she wants to keep it or not. She can only have either the photo card or drivers license. She cannot have both. So far, thank goodness it was smooth sailing. We just received a request for his medical. Fingers crossed everything will work out just fine.

Thats great! I am sure it will smooth further as well :)

I checked out Ontario Photo Card website and it says its delivered in 4-6 weeks so I guess we will send the application after that. I also read that its very important to make sure she has documentation that shows we live at the same address. TD Bank joint account, Ontario Photo Card and Phone connection are the things I have in mind right now. Not sure what else I can get.

Don't forget that the marriage certificate will take some time to receive. You can apply to get the expedited version.
