Hi there,

Does IELTS test is required for those who apply for permanent resident (as landed immigrant) going to Canada??
As I know, IELTS is required for skilled worker.

Yes - anyone that wants to apply for PR must have a valid IELTS/CELPIP/TEF result (PNP, CEC, FSW, Family Sponsorship..etc)

ok - what are the provinces in which PNP applicants don't need language results. it'd be beneficial for others to know.

Yes you do - here is a copy of the checklist for PNP. It tells you exactly what you need to apply for it

I've applied for NSNP under Family Business Worker.
For NOC 0,A and B is not required (non mandatory) to take ielts.
For NOC C and D is required (mandatory) to take ielts test.
My job offer is under NOC 0 (0631 restaurant manager)

Regards,
Alban

So what's your question if you already have an opinion/answer?

I made application for nomination without IELTS and I am waiting for desicion.
I'd like to be informed about the experiences that anyone have passed if there is any case the same with me.

I would make sure the other requirements are met first - since IELTS isn't required, it's probably not a big issue.

Thank u for your reply

I need to know about the IELTS score/band required for the immigration to Canada. In EE (Express Entry) which is going to start in Jan 2015. I was confused as I read somewhere that the minimum requirement is band 6 in all the 4 parts. and then I heard the minimum is 7 band. Now in Canada-visa website I read that the IELTS is not a barrier however required for the employer to analyze the candidate only. so the best you have the best you get however, that's not the benchmark. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Just do the best you can - of course the higher you score, the better it is for you.

Hello, I am a US born citizen wanting to move to Saskatchewan to be with my boyfriend and his family. I have a learning disability and I am having a hard time understanding everything. I was wondering which IELTS test I would need to take, the general or the academic?
