Do I need to stay in Canada if I applied for renewing visa inside Canada?

I applied to renew my study permit through online application on March 3 and I received a confirmation on March 16.

After waiting for a month and 5 days without receiving my new study permit, I decided to call the call centre and an agent told me that my new study permit had been sent to me on April 25.

However, today is May 3, and I did not received anything yet.

Why do it take so long to receive a mail from Citizenship and Immigration Canada Office?

By the way, do I need to stay the whole time in Canada if I applied for renewing visa inside Canada? I am going back to my country on this summer. However, I afraid that I may be back while the visa is still in progress. Moreover, some people said that applying to renew visa out side Canada may encounter obstacles, being rejected, for example. But please note, I have renewed my study permit, is that guarantee my visa?

Plus, even though you only have 2 days left and your visa will be expired, can you still enter Canada within that 2 days?

Please stay till u get ur study permit and visa both in your hands before leaving canada. Even if u have study permit they can still refuse visa if u apply outside canada.

DO not make the mistake of leaving the country without having Valid Study permit and Visa extended. There have been cases where the extension has been denied. DO NOT TAKE THAT RISK.
