Do I need to renew police certificates if I haven't been back to that country since the last one?

Hi all,

Long winded question, but there are 3 countries in which I would require a police certificate for Express Entry. Two of which I have not been back to since I last got the police certificate for my original working holiday visa to Canada.

I am now applying for Express Entry and am wondering whether I need to redo the police certificates for the two countries I haven't been back to since?? To me it doesn't make sense to, as I haven't been back, but have heard mixed opinions in that some people are saying the police certificates have to be no more than 3 months old or something?

Any help would be appreciated as trying to contact CIC about the issue is proving to be impossible.

If the two police certificates were obtained after you last lived (in other words, after you left) in the two countries, then you they are still valid. If you lived in these two countries even for 1 day after the issue date of the police certificates, then you will need updated police certificates. Good Luck!

Awesome, this is what I thought. I was going to renew one of them as I had been there for a couple of weeks last year, but really didn't want to thave to renew the other two if I didn't have to.
