Do I need to provide details of my childs even they don't come to canada?

Hi guys,
Lawyer said because I am not sponsoring my childs and they stay with my Ex-wife, I don't need to write their information on Generic form (imm0008enu_2d), additional family information (imm5406e). BUT it says on Generic form: You must provide the details of each of your family member, whether they accompany you to canada or not.
I am confused whether to write their information or not?
 
Yes you must include them if you ever want to be able to sponsor them in the future. If you don't declare them then it will be harder. You will also have to do medicals for them even though they're not attending. Just keep that in mind if that might be an issue.

It does not sound like your lawyer knows what he/she is talking about.

Include them. First, you have to or it's misrepresentation and could affect your own application.

Then, as noted above, if you get PR and they are not declared, they can NEVER be sponsored, ever.

Try to convince them that they should just do the procedure - take the medicals basically. If they never come to Canada, all they've lost is getting a medical check. You'll include them as non-accompanying and that's more or less the end of it.

If they decide they never, ever want to be sponsored to Canada and refuse to even get the medicals done, they/other parent can sign docs saying give up right to ever come, etc. But it will probably cost more in legal fees and hassle than just getting the medicals done.

(If they won't cooperate and even sign forms, different set of problems)
