Do I need to inform VO about visitor visa rejection?

Hi folks,

I have a PR application under process for my spouse at the New Delhi Visa Office (NDVO) for about 4 months now. We recently applied for a Visitor Visa (TRV) for her and got rejected.

Do we need to take any action now?

I ask because, in the the original PR application, we had stated that "No, we have never applied for any visa and gotten rejected". This statement will be false by the time NDVO gets to our application. Therefore, do we need to inform them?

Bear in mind that it was NDVO itself that also handled our TRV. The TRV was done online and is linked to the same UCI as the PR application.

Thanks,
Beef

No, you don't need to inform them. The statements on the application only need to be true as of the date you signed the forms. There are some things you need to update IRCC about as the process goes along (name changes, birth of children, new address) but TRV rejections are not one of them. :)

Thank you KBH and singleman. Appreciate your replies.

By the way, will my visitor visa application in any way delay my PR application?

Just so you know. Once you come to Canada and start process of landing as PR, the agents do and can ask questions, usually yes and no questions at the landing interview. One of which is and has been asked, "Have you ever been denied entry to Canada and/or any other country?" This is where you have to say "Yes" since you have been denied a visa since you applied for PR.
