Hi All,

I am a Canadian citizen and planning to apply PR for my spouse and child. I am unemployed since 2022, do i need to show the proof of funds as part of My wife and child PR application?
Any helpful information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes. Although there is no income requirement to sponsor your family you must be able to show that you can support your family without government support. You also can’t receive social assistance to sponsor your family. I would suggest finding employment if you are going to sponsor your wife and child. If living in the US you will have to show that you will be moving to Canada when they get PR to be able to sponsor them.
