Do I need to change my address as per spouse on my passport?

Hi All,

I have a question related to the address on my passport. My passport was made before my marriage and I have been to US on business visa multiple times.
After marriage, I didnt change my address as per the new address of my spouse. Plus, I dont have any spouse name on my passport.
However, on my husband's passport, my name is mentioned in spouse name.

Do you think it would create any problems in Express entry going forward? Shall I request for a new passport/ update passport?

Will I get new passport number?
Will I get the US visa back on my new passport which is still valid till 2024?

Please share your suggestions/experiences.

No, it will not create any problem as long as you have marriage certificate. Please note that, if your name has changed after marriage, then it would be advisable to get the passport with the name with updated surname. Or else the visa will be issued to you as per your maiden name in the old passport. In case you change name after marriage and you do not want to update your name in passport, then you can submit affidavit for name change after marriage.

That should not be an issue. CIC is not concerned with the address. Mine is also a similar case.

Me and my wife too have different addresses on passports. Will that be an issue?

That should not be an issue. CIC is not concerned with the address. Mine is also a similar case.

I doubt the address on the passport matters. Not everyone has an address on it anyways.
