Do I need Study Permit?

I am planning to do a 10 weeks course in Toronto. Being an international student I need to know if I need a study permit or can I do the course on a tourist visa.

You can study on a visitor visa since your program is less than six months. Note that you cannot work while in Canada.

Are you trying to say that there are less chances of me getting visa? If yes then, why?

Visa chances doesn't depend on the course duration but on your overall profile.
For less than 6 months study, you have to apply for visitors visa.
Although if you want post study work permit, your course should be full time for min 8 months at a dli institute
