Do I need Proof of Funds? EE under PNP, met CEC, not met FSW

Hi all,

I have seen similar questions mentioned here and there in some posts. But I am still uncertain about PoF. Please help if you have experience with this or have been through this?

My situation:
EE profile said I met CEC, not FSW, FST
Invitation letter said I am invited to apply PR under PNP, NOT CEC.

I have two questions regarding my application:
1. Do I need proof of funds? my invitation letter said I am invited to apply PR under PNP. I know application under CEC does not require it, but my invitation letter said I am under PNP, NOT CEC. Just to point out, my PNP is from BC and I was not required proof of funds or minimum income for BC PNP.

2. Schedule 4 and 4a? I saw someone are requested to submit schedule 4 and 4a. I did not know this in my submitted application. Will there be a problem? Should CIC contact me to provide them later?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I think it all depends on what finds you claimed to have in your profile. If you said 0 bevause you thought you would be CEC applicant, then not but if you provided a certain amount of funds in your profile, you would definitely have to be able to provide POF for those funds.

What did you enter as funds in your profile?

Thank you for the reply. I put 0 in my express entry profile, which met CEC, not FSW. Then after getting ITA under PNP, I put some amount and also provide the bank balances history of that amount.

Now I am short of money since I pay the application fees and also other expense. I am wondering if I don't need proof of funds in the first place and the fact I did provide funds has no impact?

Also will it be ok that my account has less money than the minimum required now after AOR? In other words, can I spend the money in my account, even this will make the balance lower than the minimum? Will CIC call my bank to verify?

Any help is very appreciated.

Others also seem to think that cec doesnt require pof, so you should be fine, as long as you are in canada and have a job.

Hi,

I'm in the same situation (ITA received under PNP, my profile met CEC, not met FSW). So how it is?

I'm common-law, currently in Canada on my close work permit, my girlfriend is on open work permit (not sure if it's considered valid job offer though).
Do we have to upload Proof of funds or not? I don't have $15,143 at the moment :( Is it really ok if I fill in $0 in my Express Entry profile? :-X

Thank you!

I was in the same situation - I put zero in my profile and received PR no problem.

Nope, I did not have an LMIA.
Thank you. Btw I think back in your time (before changes in 2017), it was different but today, I think you could have 50 additional points if you answered these questions in your EE profile.

1. Do you have a valid job offer
"yes"
2. Is this job offer for work that is full time, continuous and for at least one year?
"yes"
3. Is this job offer for work that is non-seasonal?
"yes"
4. NOC code?
Mine is 4163 (category A)
5. Is th employer an embassy, consulate or high commission in Canada?
"no"
6. Is an employer on the list of ineligible employers with the Government of Canada?
"no"
7.Was a positive LMIA issued for the job offer in Canada?
"no"
8. Are you currently working in Canada?
"yes"
9. Do you have a valid work permit for the current job in Canada?
"yes"
10. Is your job offer from the employer named on the current work permit?
"yes"
11. Have you been working full-time for the employer on their current work permit for at least one year?
"yes"
12. Was a positive LMIA issued for the current work permit?
"No - my work permit is exempt from an LMIA for other reasons and is employer-specific"

Stop spreading this as a tip. If you want to share, share CICs definition of a valid job offer.
