Hello,
I am on a valid Open Work Permit (My wife is full time student in Canada), I happen to receive an offer from a SF based start up that also has office in Canada. I read through the IRCC docs, and could not find the answer.
Do I need my employer to apply for LMIA foo me to start working?
Eventually I want to be a PR, and I am part of EE pool.

You do not need an LMIA to work for them. You hold an open work permit which allows you to work for any employer in Canada without going through the LMIA process.

However if you want to claim the 50 job offer points under EE, then yes, your employer will need to obtain an approved LMIA. The job offer itself isn't enough to claim the 50 points.
