Hi Everyone,

I am fairly new to the EE system and am about to start the process.

Firstly, can someone suggest if I would need an agent for any work at all as the fee they ask is extortionate !! So, not sure if it would actually help.

Also, as per the online point calculator tools, I am getting around 440 points (Done Masters in education and 2 years of work experience, no spouse) so any suggestions on how to increase the points in any way??

Hopefully, more people have same issue and get benefited from this link.

Thanks, I'll keep this link updated as the process continues. :)

no need of agents .
you get all the help here . just go through the respective threads .
all the best .
you can get Ontario PT if you score more than 400 crs and then if you apply for it , you get nomination

Hi Sunny,

You need not got any of the agents. You will get all the help needed.
As you have already done your masters I think you only can increase your score by improving your IELTS bands if you haven't received the maximum points for it.
As you already have more than 400 points you will be eligible for nomination from Ontario.

@sraj07: Thanks!
Though I've just realized that different online calculators give different scores for some reason! :-X

The last calculator I used gave me 363 crs for some reason!

I am personally looking for Ontario as destination.

IELTS plays a very important role in your CRS score, therefore I would suggest you to target CLB 9 (LRWS - 8777). You can try these values in the calculators here and see for yourself how much of a difference IELTS makes to your CRS score.

Have you got your ECA done?

Regarding consultants/agents, you may have to spend more than the OINP Fees CAD 1,500. They will tell you the same thing what is there in the Application Guide. Instead you can give me half the amount, I can you guide you better than an agent ;). Jokes apart, if you follow this forum, you will be in a position to do everything on your own. Most of your questions would already have been answered by many experienced people on this forum and still if you feel that there is a blocker, post your question here, I am sure, people will be more than willing to help you. In the end the decision is yours, if you have the money and willing to hire an agent, you will be able to find many of them. But after everything is done, you will feel, you paid them to you tell you things which are easily available on OINP sites, forums like these etc.

You can refer to these links. It will answer most of your questions

@Stanlee: Thanks :)

No, I don't have extra money to shell out on agents :p As I am saving to pay for the EE fee. Is OINP fee of CAD 1500 different from the PR fee?

and in general is Ontario is good location to settle down? In terms of job prospects and future? (sorry for asking silly questions but need to be sure).

I am sure, most of the information I can use is available on this forum or can be discussed from more experienced members like you.

I am planning to book the IELTS general test (currently in the UK, so will take test here) and get my ECA done in parallel. Not sure if getting ECA done will add extra points to my CRS ??

Is there anything else I can do to increase my score or make process easier and faster??

@sraj07: Thanks for the link.

It gave me a score of 393 (with 2 years of work experience + Masters qualification + No certificate of qualification + No valid job offer + No letter of nomination) and I entered IELTS score of 7 in each band as I haven't taken the test yet but plan to do it in next 2-3 weeks.

Any tips on IELTS and in general??

Thank you so much guys for your help :)

Try to get Overall Band 8 in IELTS (CLB 10 in each section) and see how your score will jump to 450+

Below is the CLB 10 equivalent IELTS Bands in different sections:
CLB Level Reading Writing Listening Speaking
10 8.0 7.5 8.5 7.5

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

And with a 450+ score, you won't need the State nomination. You will get the invitation under Express Entry only.

Good Luck!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the suggestions..I gave my IELTS general exam yesterday so fingers crossed !! ;)

Now, my next step is ECA!

1. Can someone please advice if I should use WES based in Canada?

2. I did B-Tech in Electronics and Communications from MDU, Rohtak India and MSc Electronics from Staffordshire, UK.
What kind of transcripts does WES accept? Is it the final degree or, I need to get some other type of document from the University?

3. Do I need to send all the mark sheets for each semester (total 8 mark sheets for B-tech and a final degree) ?

4. Do I need to send the originals for send a Black/White or colored copy?

Would really appreciate if you could answer these and also suggest what should I do next in the process?

I will create the profile as soon as I send the documents for ECA and get my IELTS score.

Thanks everyone! :)

Yes, CAD 1500 is for Ontario PNP. PR Fees would be additional to that if you go the PNP route. If you are able to get a score of 455+, then you stand a chance to get direct ITA and in that case you need not go through the PNP route, this will hep you save CAD 1500.

Yes, Ontario is good in terms of job opportunities, it also depends on what kind of job you are looking for.

Yes, ECA and IELTS is mandatory for primary applicant.
