Do I need a visa

I need to train some people for a week or two on how to use our drilling (oilfield) equipment, I will make a visit to the drilling rig site during my trip and just need to know if a this is classed as a business visitor trip or would I need a work permit for this trip? I will be traveling on a British passport.

Are you getting paid for this? Who pays for it and where?

We need much more specifics on the economic side of things.

No one in Canada is paying me to be there, the company i work for pays my salary as normal no matter where they send me. We have a North American parent company that helps find us new customers, we then send personnel to liaise with the customers and sometimes to train their people. I am paid out of Singapore, our company will get paid for supplying the equipment but not for me attending business meetings and training their staff.
