Do I need a transit visa for overnight transit at Heathrow

Hi All,

I am an Indian Citizen and Canadian Permanent Resident and travelling from Mumbai to Toronto through London Heathrow. I come to LHR at 8:00 pm and depart LHR at 8:30 am the next day. I know that if it was the same day I do not need a transit visa. Since I shall be staying overnight, is there a rule change ? Do i need a transit visa ?

Given you will be passing through UK immigration and assume leaving the airport for these hours then you will I believe need a transit visa

i am in a similar situation.. i am flying without a uk transit visa and it should be ok..

Apologies I misread the statement about before midnight the following day as the same day. You will still need to have the correct documentation though such as your PR card to show to border control as well as your onward flight proof.
