Do I need a proof of an onward flight destination city upon landing

Dear all

please help me with this question that is making me really puzzled

during my FSW application I put Toronto as my destination city


I'm landing in Toronto for a short landing , upon landing i'm planning to tell officer that I'm going to stay at our friends address at Edmonton so they could send the PR to that address

i'm not intending to go to Edmonton upon first landing and im just staying at Toronto for 2 weeks and go back home to arrange things before coming back and settling in Edmonton


Would this scenario produce any problems ? would the officer ask for a proof of my onward flight to Edmonton? I really dont have any people i trust at Toronto to give their address for PR card

hi there.
you will go through immigration procedure means landing at the first port of entry.
it is not necessary to stay or settle down in the city you mentioned ehile applying.
upon landing you will be given a document which you csn use until you get PR card.
according to my knowledge you are supposed to apply for PR card online after landing.
in thst case apply for PR card only once you got settled with an address in which you live.

but if i apply to the pr card once i settle in the 2nd visit , how would i enter canada ? dont i need the card to get in ? !

if you leave Canada and you have no card. To re enter you will need a travel document from Indian embassy.
better get your card then leave. Keep it simple

cooldoc80----dont panic. Just land in toronto, return back after giving your friends address. You don't have to explain, inform, educate the immigration officer. Hope information this brings relief to you. Its none of anybody's business to know where you will live once you do the landing. An address is required to send your PR cards. Explain that address is where you will live and heading to.
