Do I need a new Work Permit?

Hi,

I'm a temporary foreign worker with an intra-company transfer work permit. My employer is likely to change my job role within the same NOC code. My job title would change. Some of my duties would stay the same but some would be replaced by new ones.

Do I need to re-apply for work permit and tempoary resident visa? Is it a completely new WP application or another specific application (specific form number)? If yes, I believe I can't start work on the new role until my work permit is approved - please confirm.

I found other posts on this topic, but the responses were somewhat contradictory and confusing, hence the new post.

Thanks in advance.

You're fine if you stay within the same NOC code. The title is something that's different for many companies anyway, look at the NOC and duties and you're fine.

thats right, if you are executing the same duties that conforms within the NOC code, then, you are good. No need to worry about applying a new WP.

Thank You, mrFoce and BigBee. So, just to confirm, even if the duties are changing, as long as they conform to the current NOC code, I don't need to get a new work permit.

To clarify, the duties will not vary much within the same NOC code, so, better check the duties exactly.
