Do I need a new Work Permit or change in conditions will work

Hello Experts

I got the work permit last year which is valid till 2010 through a company A. But due to unavoidable circumstances I could not go to canada. I never entered canada on my work permit.

I want to know in case if I get a job now in Canada for Company B. Do I will need to reapply for new visa or only change in conditions of work permit will work? How do I get my new employer name changes in my file?

I guess new visa will not be required untill 2010.Please provide your inputs.

For visa no need new one. As it is valid till 2010.
For work permit I am not sure. You have to check the conditions on it. If it says you are allowed to work only for company A, then you have to obtain a new work permit to work for company B.

Just my opinion. Others will have more input.

I am under Software Category so LMO is not required in my case. Also I am confused about Visa and work permit. I am still in my country and never entered Canada. I have a visa stamped on my passport and does not mention about any company name explicitliy.

I think WP will be issued only when I enter Canada.It may have company A name on it. But as of now no Wp has been issued , I only have Visa with Category W-1.

Now my question is If I plan for other job now. What do I need to do in order to get company B name in Consulate Records.

Is it possible?

If yes then How should I approach consulate in my country.

In that case, I think you would need a job offer from Company B. That suffice it for your home country and you should be able to obtain the new work permit when you arrive in Canada port of entry.
