Hi all,

I am moving to Canada from the US and looking forward to applying for PR under CEC.

I have approved the work permit application (ICT under GSS) with NOC 2173 (I guess it's NOC-A level). My WP is LMIA exempt.

I was thinking this work-permit / job offer would help me to get additional scores for CRS. But it looks like one can not use the same job offer that was used for work permit approval.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/offer-employment.html

It stats the following :

Your job offer must:

  • be recent (usually less than 1 year old)
    • You can’t use the same job offer letter that you used to get your work permit.

Does it mean we cant use existing job at all or we can just ask employer to give up new job offer to get more CRS points.

Note :- I am 45 years so I am trying to see if my work experience and arranged employment would help me to fill in the for the required CRS scores for the PR.

If you want to claim the 50 job offer points, you'll need the letter from your employer to say that they will continue to employ you in you role for at least one year after you become a PR.
