hello i have my indian police clearance certificate. do i need to get canadian police clearance certificate too for applying for immigration?
someone said that with respect to Canadian PCC, the visa officer will contact my city police HQ...i am clueless.

Quick question:-

If we are applying for a PR from within Canada (we are planning to travel on a TRV & WP) do we still require an India Police Clearance Certificate?

Thanks,
PC

Hi,
you need the PCC from all the countries (except Canada) you lived in for more than 6 months after the age of 18.

Applying PR within Canada doesn't require PCC from Canada. How ever if you have stayed for 6 months any other place then your country for citizenship, need PCC from all countries .

To clarify, you also need the PCC from your country of citizenship.

If you didn't stay (lived) in your country of citizenship for more than 6 months after the age of 18 you don't need the PCC even from there.

Technically, by the rules, yes, but CIC will ask for it anyway -

Not always. CIC didn't ask the PCC from my daughter (from the country of her citizenship).

CIC requires police certificates from all countries you lived in for more than 6 months after the age of 18 except for Canada.

Ok that clarifies my doubt. I will need a PCC at some point of time during the process. Better get one done.
