I wanted to confirm if I need to stay in Montreal for 3 years to apply for a Canadian Citizenship? I was planning to move to another province of Canada but I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to apply for the citizenship if I moved too soon. Let's say I got here last September 2016, then I decided I wanted to move to Ontario or Alberta this April 2017, less than a year here in Montreal, would I be able to process my citizenship in ON or Alberta or would I need to go back to Montreal for it to work? I need answers please and thank you!

I'm assuming you're asking this question because you entered Canada under the Provincial Nominee Program. Even so, you can move anywhere in Canada that you like whenever you like. It doesn't matter where you live in Canada when applying for Canadian citizenship. That's why it's Canadian citizenship, not Quebec or Ontario citizenship.

Thank you! I wasn't sure because I knew people who got their applications denied because they moved to another province too soon and they were told to go back to Quebec for the citizenship since that's where they landed.

More on your issue here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/what-are-the-restrictions-and-conditions-after-getting-provincial-nomination-t20370.0.html

Basically, if you entered Canada under the PNP, you likely signed an application stating that you intended to reside in Quebec. If you leave Quebec too soon, there is the possibility that the province could accuse you of not being honest about your intentions. (Some reports state that provinces are cracking down on people who leave, but I don't know how accurate that information is.) However, there is no set time that you are required to stay. This issue is separate from the right to apply for Canadian citizenship. There is no requirement for citizenship that states that you must remain in the province where you landed.
