are you the sponsor??? if you are not the sponsor then you do not have to fill out the sponsor questionnaire, nor would you have the document checklist included in your package - that is paperwork for the sponsor to complete.

Oneworded is applying inland, and is using the inland forms. Here's the link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp
The document checklist is not the same as the doc checklist required for the outland forms, and sure enough, no IMM 5540 is listed.

Thanks for the catch on the inland vs. outland forms Canadianwoman. I realized after I posted that I must have had my "outland" blinders on and didn't even think the package of forms could be "inland" forms. And was only able to get back now, intending to correct myself.

Sorry for any confusion I caused oneworded. The process is stressful enough without getting conflicting information.

That seems to clear the confusion, thank you so much canadianwoman :D

So I (the sponsor) do not need to fill out the IMM 5540 because I am applying as a sponsor for an INLAND application for my wife???

Yes, Canadianwoman, caught the mistake the rest of us made in assuming you were applying Outland. ::)

Gosh, why can't they simply add "outland" or "inland" at the buttom or top of the forms......makes our lives so much easier...I was extremely frustrated because I thought I was missing forms and I was cursing CIC when I thought I had to complete this IMM 5540 form

@ oneworded, you also may want to do a search on this forum, I know there is a thread for "inlanders"/"inland applications. They also might help clear up some more confusion as you go along. It seems to me most of us are outland and we sometimes assume everyone else is (and we are not that familiar with the inland process). It may be a good idea to identify yourself as and Inland Sponsorship so we don't go confusing you again ;)
