Do I have to apply for a new visa if my current visa is valid but I've gone from having a study permit to a work permit?

After I applied and was approved for a study permit extention in 2021, I applied for a new TRV since the old one was expiring the same time as the old study permit. I was expecting the validity date of the new visa to match the validity of my new study permit which was end of march 2022. However they ended up making my visa valid till my passport expiry date which is after a couple of years. And I noticed this time that the category for the visa was visitor instead of student. I've gotten approval for a work permit after I finished my studies and applied for a PGWP earlier this year. Considering my visa is still valid, do I need to submit a TRV application for a new visa?
