My file has been in process since Feb. 2019, but haven't heard anything since. Do I expect a request to provide my biometrics (fingerprints) before I receive the online test invitation? I have read applicants with similar timeline started to receive their online test invitation, but I am not sure if they already did the biometrics, or not.

I sent my application in February 2019. I was asked to provide a set of fingerprints first back in July 2019 and another in Dec 2020. Shortly after the second set being provided, I was invited to take an online test. So, I would assume you would have to provide yours too? See my signature for my timeline in details.

Just so you know, not everyone gets FP request. This happens on a case-by-case basis.

Thanks for the info. Can I ask how did you receive the request for fingerprints? via email?

Great. Congratulations. After the test have you seen decision made on Ecas or otherwise received any update from IRCC? I got first finger print request on 19 Feb , got test invite on 13 Jan 2021, passed test on 23 Jan 2021. Not sure if I will have to do another finger prints....

How did you receive the FB requests?

Unfortunately, I have not. Though if you check this thread, https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...s/online-citizenship-test.711775/post-9149771, there are some people who wrote the test, and either their status was updated to DM or they were invited to a virtual oath ceremony in anytime between 1 week to 1 month. So I am hoping to hear back in a week at the latest. Fingers crossed.

Yeah both times were all via email.

One more question: if I received a FB request by email, would I need to print anything? I am asking because I don't have a printer and I think public printing services are closed where I live. I would like to know if I might need to buy a printer just in case. Thanks in advance

So the attachement in the email would probably say bring the letter along other things listed in it to get your fingerprints scanned. I don't quite remember what happened during my first visit to the police station as that was more than a year ago, but when I visited about a month ago, the police officer only asked for two pieces of identification. He didn't even care to look at the letter. Things may be different at different locations or if you visit one of those accredited agencies though.

Thanks for the details. I guess I could show them the attachment on my phone if they ask for it. It should work, I suppose.
