Yes the PH does not have a National ID. What we have is the unofficial concept of Primary ID and Secondary ID. All gov't issued IDs with a barcode, and the passport are termed as Primary IDs, and those that are may or may not be government issued but only has a photo and no barcode are usually termed as Secondary IDs.Pauluz said:Philippines doesnt have a National ID document, however I did include my wife's postal ID in our sponsorship application. That seems to serve the purpose, as the country's unofficial de facto national ID (claiming packages in post office, ID for domestic travel in airport check in counter, etc)
I did not put in any National ID in this section - N/A only - given that the PH does not have any national ID. Did not have any bearing in our application; we did receive our PRs without any indication of the national ID in our application.
As mentioned below, if the applicant is a PH citizen, but resident of another country and has been issued a National ID as part of being a resident (such as Singapore or any other country), indicating the national ID may facilitate easier verification of the status of the applicant in that country. I would presume it has more bearing in the background (security/criminality) checks for the period that the applicant is a resident of that country.
