I submitted my CEC application 3 weeks ago. What I would like to know is if CIC phoncall your employer(s) to find out more details about you, the applicant.

At what stage do they call?
What questions do they ask?
What happens in the event that an employer does not verify you? (Say for example that you left a previous job on bad terms.)

Any help is welcome, thanks.

Hi,
yes CIC can call any of the employers you listed on your application for the last 3 years to qualify for cec.
they can call at any stage and for any reason and ask any questions, its true the chances are low but if something is not clear or doubthful they will verify.
sometimes people get selected for a detailed check just randomly because CIC`s system picked their applications, that is why you must always be honest and tell the truth in your application,if your are caught with a misrepresentation your application will be refused and you will be banned from applying for any sort of canadian visas for a such a period.
if you left a job on a bad term and the employer refused to verify your duties to CIC you will be in a loophole but don`t worry most of the times CIC will gives a chance to an applicant if they have any doubts before the officer makes the final decision.
good luck on your application.

Thanks canadavisa13. If you already have an employer's letter from said employer, stating that you have met the requirements for your NOC, will that reduce the chances of them making the phonecall?
