I am currently in Canada and going to send my app to Buffalo just in case you needed that detail.
I posted this on another board but I know that some people that are here, are not part of that board so I figured I would search for support/tips here too.

DMP's in Canada should know about outland requirements just as much as inland.
I was just on the phone talking to one office and he said he never heard of that and that they wouldn't give me anything since everything goes to Ottawa and they can't give it to me since it is a federal document.

I told him what I would need, the difference between inland and outland, explained it still gets sent to Ottawa, and that if I didn't have the right form my application would be delayed or returned. I also stated that I had to go by the checklist and on there it states that I need Copy 2 of the Medical Report - Section A.

He still doesn't believe me but is going to have the actual doctor call me. Pray for me that he will understand.

His receptionist said the doctor has done many exams for years and never done that. Ugh....please tell it isn't just Newfoundland that is like this. Also, the only other one close to me, she is NEVER in her office.

Grr....

I wasn't sure, so I went and looked at my copy of my application.

I sent copy 2 of IMM 1017 Medical Report Section A with my application. The document has my picture on it (the receptionist did it when I was at the DMP), it has two stamps on it (maple leaf with a number inside) over part of my picture and over the doctor's signature. Printed on the bottom of the document it says "COPY 1 - REGIONAL MEDICAL OFFICE COPY 2 - PERSON EXAMINED" So it's pretty clear that you get a copy and another goes straight to the regional office.

I also received a form from the doctor's office that states that the applicant (named above) has undergone their immigration medical in my office on such and such date. This document is signed and stamped by the doctor as well. I also included a copy of Appendix C that I took to the DMP on the day I was examined.

This is probably because a DMP in Canada usually performs medicals relating to in-Canada applications. As the Medical Report Section A is the form you fill in (in Canada apps) and pass to the DMP, the Doctor will not give a copy to you because it is a federal document. It's not the same section A form as the outside Canada apps. Outland you take appendix C to the DMP and they produce the section A form and give you a copy.

You probably need to explain that there is a difference in application type and take page 6 of IMM3999 plus appendix C with you - you could also email or fax those to him if it would clear things up.

Hi, I just got an outland exam in Toronto. They told me that everything gets sent to Ottawa and they send it to the appropriate visa office after that. They gave me a copy of Section A but kept the Appendix C to send with their packet. They told me they had done both inland and outland apps for years so they seemed to know what they were doing.
