So here is a bit of a story that I am hoping someone can help me with.

My status changed to DM in September. I did not get any PPR at all
I have been contacting CIC every 2 weeks for a status update, and all the requests were ignored
Yesterday, I emailed my local MP to get a readout from CIC
MP's office calls me back and says CIC has been waiting for my passport since June and asked me to send it to them ASAP.

I dont have any official PPR at all from CIC.

Could the PAFSO strike have caused confusion to my file? I am sending my passport to CIC blind and hope they stamp it...

Ohh...Thats scary....
Are you sure, you never received any response from them . I hope you are checking your Spam/Junk box as well.

For me, I kept sending emails, and once with all the details including the status updated from GCMS notes. Then I received a call from CIC and next day got my PPR.
I'd suggest you compile a mail with a proper header and make the body crsip but with information including the one you got from MPs office.

I have lawyers that are handling my case. Lawyers insist they haven't received anything from CIC and that they have been sending out emails every 2 weeks. Interesting thing from my GCMS though is that under the outgoing section, I do see an eligibility passed letter being send out in June, however there is no email address on that correspondence, which is what seems to be normal if an email is being sent out..

My gcms notes show which email address they send an email to.

I assume a mistake was made on cic side..
But i think you can just send your passport and everything will be fine.

That is the hope.. I am guessing the worst case scenario would be, CIC gets my passport.. they say the hell is wrong with this dude sending us passport, and send it back in the return envelope...

There is also a note on my file that says "Pending Passport", so I am thinking its worth the risk..

Yeah, I will try to send it out tomorrow or day after. I dont think a couple of days will make a difference considering its been months...

Btw, how do you contact MP? Does he/she tell you the status of your application the next day you email him/her?

Find who your MP is. I just googled my area. There is a website but it has been down for me all week.

Then you can just contact them with your file number, DOB, citizenship and other information that you use to look up your status. I emailed mine. The MP forwarded my request to CIC and called me up this morning and told me what was going on.

I sent out my passport yesterday with 2 pictures and a biodata form... Hopefully CIC will stamp it.

hi y3knik,

did you include a prepaid national xpress post return envelope with your passport and a cover letter explaining your situation?
good luck

I sent that to my lawyers.. I am sure they will do whats necessary when they forward it to CIC

just double check with your lawyer, its your passport not his and he his other applicants to deal with not just you.
if he didn't submit a prepaid return envelope then you are risking having your passport lost or at least a pretty slow delivery from canada post specially if you live in western canada because cpp-ottawa will send your passport using a regular mail.
