Divorced in India Remarrying In Canada and Applying for spousal Sponsership

Hello,

My friend Moved to Canada - 2020 (Study)
Since then he remained in Canada till Present, Never went back to India
Divorced in India - 2022 (Court Order)

He is getting remarried to his conjugal spouse.

He wants to know if the court order of divorce a full file needs to be uploaded with the spousal sponsorship ?

Here he is getting sponsored by his spouse who is a PR resident.

What are the documents they required ?
He thought its only new Marriage Certificate from Canadian Province that is required not previous divorce order on the sponsorship file.

Please help provide the steps if someone went through this even the process of remarrying in Ontario or Quebec as well.

Yes, he needs the divorce paperwork for the spousal sponsorship application. He also needs this documentation in order to get married. No, the marriage certificate is not sufficient.

Tell him to research the process for getting married in Canada for those who were previously divorced. And also look at the documents required for spousal sponsorship. This is all outlined there.

He absolutely needs the divorce paperwork/final court order to proceed.

These are basic questions and he should start by doing more research.

If both in Canada not conjugal sponsorship. Hopefully he has proof of longterm dating of the new spouse because the timing likely coincides with the expiry of his PGWP.
