Hello everyone,

I am the Primary applicant in Express Entry (Skilled Worker) and my wife and child are secondary applicants. We were granted COPR and PR visa but we have Not landed yet.

If there is a divorce before landing what happens to Secondary applicants (My wife and Child)?

Will they still be able to land and get their PR status? Also, should I inform IRCC?

Finally, will this affect my application or my COPR and PR visa as a primary applicant?

Thank you and hope I can get help on this matter.

Are you getting divorced? You would have to inform IRCC to remove her from the application, and your child's status would likely be determined by whatever custody arrangement is worked out in court.

Thank you for your response.
Even after getting COPR and visa, she would be removed??
And when to inform? Before I land? or after? Would it affect my application and COPR status?

It will not effect your status, but it will effect your ex-wife and child status since their application was dependent. Like primaprime said, child's status will depend on the outcome of custody.

If divorce is finalized then you will have to inform IRCC of this change before landing and it will take additional processing time to complete the change. If it's not finalized then it's up to you what to do with it.
