Divide name on Canadian passport.

Hi,
I have an indian passport and my whole name appears in the given name section on it. Can anyone please confirm if I can divide my name into first and last name while applying for my canadian passport. For all the application forms that I have filled in Canada I used to write my complete name in both the first name and last name sections. I will really appreciate if someone can help me with this.
