I just completed a 2-year diploma in Canada but want to continue studying while on my PGWP. Can I obtain a bachelor's degree from a foreign or Canadian university while I am working in Canada and will I be able to use that degree for express entry? Also, will my skilled work experience in Canada be valid if I am studying full-time online at the same time?

To study in Canada you need a Study Permit. Yes, you can hold both permits.

If it is a foreign degree, you can do it as well. It doesn't matter, no need to do anything.

However, studying online might not give you any points under Express Entry, you would have to get an ECA for a foreign degree. If it is a Canadian one, you need to make sure the program is recognized by IRCC and the institution is a DLI so that you would get any points.

Also, just having a diploma and a bachelor's eventually. It will most likely not give you enough points under CEC. YOu may need to compensate with many years of experience in Canada plus pretty good language test scores.

I don't see any proof that I can have both permits at the same time other than International Experience Canada, which does not apply to me. I am aware that I would need an ECA for the foreign degree, just trying to clarify if I can study and work at the same time. But thanks for your response.

You can have both.

It was my case., I had a valid PGWP and Study permit simultaneously.

Really, how? Did you receive a study permit towards the end of your pgwp? I haven't applied for my pgwp as yet but I don't have the funds to show up front for a study permit extension so I'm trying to see how I can work and study at the same time.

I received my Study Permit half way through my PGWP, with 1½ left on it. You of course will need to show proof of funds.

You can work while you study, but only part time. Or get both permits and you'll be able to do both.

However, you should make up your mind if you're trying to study then hold off on getting the PGWP because you can only get it once ever.

Rather go back to school and get it afterwards. But if you don't have the money there is not much to think about.
