Distance education from India approved by WES?

Hi,

I am planning on doing a distance education course- either a Diploma or a PGD from one of the universities in in India. I have a couple of questions regarding this-

1. Is distance education recognised by WES?
2. Does anyone know if this university is recognised by WES - MIT School of Distance Learning https://www.mitsde.com/ . As per their website they have been approved by AICTE, UGC https://www.mitsde.com/RecognitionApproval .

Alos, this is regarding the current CRS scores, the last draw I think was 439, is there a possibility that it could fall below 439? The trend lately has been showing an average of 440. I was speaking to someone who recently moved there, she was saying the score dropped to 420 a couple of months back. What's the possibility of it dropping to 430-435?

Hi Karishma,

1. Yes
2. Please create a profile on WES and use their free assessment tool to see if they recognize MIT. Also note that they keep updating their list, so they may recognize your certificate differently by the time you are done with your course. I have personally experienced this because I got my Masters from Mumbai University assessed last November and they recognized it a Bachelors (four years) because Mumbai University lost its NAAC 'A' accreditation. My friend got his M.Com assessed before the fiasco and his education was recognized as 'Masters'.

About the CRS scores, the cut off for the last draw was 440 and that's the lowest it has fallen to this year. Not sure what your friend is smoking, but it never went to 420 this year, however it did fall to 413 last year. I am guessing that they points may drop to 438-439 (since they recently issued OINP's)

PGDM courses of MITSDE is valid Globally and registered into WES as well. I'am student of MITSDE of 2018 batch. I had received transcript as well from them.
