Dismissed DUI however failed to notify IRCC about charges and arrest

Hello all,
Looking for some advice here since I couldn't find a case similar to mine.

My AOR was November 2019. While waiting for the application process to get completed, I was arrested for DUI in May 2021. I got the passport request in December 2021. During this time, I failed to notify IRCC regarding my arrest and charges. I went right ahead with the passport stamping.

Fast forward to August 2022, my DUI case was dismissed after a jury trial. Currently there's no inadmissable factor. However, I realized I was supposed to let IRCC know about the arrest and charges before the passport stamping and COPR process. I haven't completed the first entry to Canada yet.

Looking for some advice on how to proceed with this and avoid refusal due to misrepresentation.

Send a webform and wait for their instructions. They will ask for any arrests etc when you do your landing so that is not advisable

I did notify them over a week ago via email to CPC-Ottawa. (avoided webform because the character limit was not enough to explain the issue)

They responded with below:

My COPR will expire in November. Not sure what I should do. I haven't received any instructions from IRCC since more than a week.

Can you please update your situation as of 2023. I had a similar situation where I asked IRCC for a extension to submit all documents and then submitted my dismissal letter to an IRCC email. They never responded to do specific things but Im afraid at the border they may say IRCC was not informed and deny PR for misrepresentation. Did you make it ?

Sorry for not posting the updates. I ended up sending an email to IRCC about the situation and apologized over the email for not updating then before. I never received a response. I ended up traveling to Vancouver on October 6,2022. I answered all their questions honestly and provided the not guilty verdict letter from court. They said "thank you for disclosing everything" and had me sign the COPR. Cut to two months later, I received my PR card by mail. As long as you are not deemed inadmissable, you should be fine. I made these travel plan after consulting multiple lawyers. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask me any further questions. Happy to answer them. I understand how nerve racking this must be.

Hoping to get your advice regarding a similar situation. I was charged with DUI on January 1st, 2024, and received my confirmation of status instruction today, January 15th, 2024. My court date is not until March 7, 2024, and my lawyers are confident that it can be reduced / withdrawn. I'm hoping it can be withdrawn and come down to a criminal verdict.

Now my dilemma is that I received advice from an immigration lawyer to submit my criminal charge to IRCC via webform / email but that puts me at high risk of having my application put on hold / refused. What's the next best course of action here in terms of addressing my situation?

You have no choice but to notify IRCC. Doing anything else is misrepresentation. IRCC will put your application on hold until the results of your case are known. You cannot land with the charges still outstanding.
