After my Master's, I enrolled for a PhD but quit after 20months. It was a paid ( studentship ), full-time position ( outside Canada ). Would this count as work experience, because I am applying under the FSW with just a Masters degree as my highest qualification.

were you given any designation like Research fellow or Research assistant??
if it was paid, full time and continous then I think it should count. All the best.
