Nothing happened, He dropped that plan because it was way more complicated...
I beleive a similar situation will happen to me in the future. I'm going to take a diploma and later, after I finishing it, (two months after I graduate), I would apply to a master degree completely different from that program, another specialization, is not the same I guess, but can I extend the study permit once there without any inconvenient? if so, should I re-write a new Statement of purpose for this new program?

Yes, you'll have to write a new SOP and of course, you can extend your study permit...

You shouldn't have a problem extending your study permit for a masters degree as long as you do well in your PG diploma.
