Hi Rishabshankar/ Leaon and All

I am diploma hold from India and having around 10 + years of experience in IT (lotus Notes domino and IT project management)

Now I am planning to come to Canada and look for job. I did went through some of discussions on this forum but still not clear so this Q?

Will there be any difficulty getting job in Canada due to my Diploma?

In India companies take only batchlor/degree holders. So just comparing and taking advise.

please guide

In India they take only bachelor or degree holders and you want to know if they take diploma holders in Canada. Thats an easy answer "NO, THEY DONT"

A lot of companies won't consider your diploma to be valid since it was obtained outside Canada. Many employers only consider Canadian education acceptable (with exceptions for close allies with the same education standards like the US, UK).

In addition, IT field is not in demand for TFW.

Legitimate jobs don't post on immigration forums. Scammers do. Reply to this at your own risk.

not sure where you got this wisdom from.... of course you can get a job with a diploma only. but a) it's not easy due to the competition and b) it depends on your overall package including what kind of diploma, skills set, work experience etc.

Thanks for thoughts.

I went through more discussions and threads.
1) It seems in Canada they don't much consider degree or diploma. All they want is Canadian experience and how well you present yourseslf in market.
2) It might little more time than expected say 6 months to find job.
3) Survival jobs are must for 2 reason .. Canadian experience and of course for survival.
4) Location is another point to consider .. better be in metro city e.g. Toronto
5) have faith in God and have some patience

Definitely #5.

I've been job searching for 16 months and I have experience in the USA working. It's not easy.

Its about who you know, if you know the right people your set.

One thing I'm lucky with its that a lot of my wifes family work in IT and already are setting me up with jobs in Canada, uncle is President for IBM, aunty Manager in Rogers and other family members are in IT

Even with your Diploma you will be fine but you need to build a network first.

Thought about signing up with Linkin? Good way to nertwork
