Hi,
First of all I am having acceptance letter from Sheridan College for 1 year Interactive Media management. My local agent said that I cannot apply for a diploma from colleges like SAIT Polytechnic I will get a visa rejection. Is it true? Because, SAIT has 2 year courses related to Multimedia (like new media) which is in perfect sync with my previous graduation.

I need your help with this one.

Please help me out as I am running out of time to make a firm decision for September 2014 intake.

Thanks,
Rahul

I have done BSc. Animation and Multimedia (3years) from India. I am planning to Apply to SAIT Polytechnic in Alberta for the New Media program which is 2 years. !0th and 12th above 80 percent. I am in a real fix here..should I go for Sheridan College's 1 year course (Which is actually very good) or should I apply to SAIT since it's a 2 year course and I can have better chances of permanent residence (PR) with a 3 year PGWP.

Thanks,
Rahul

Id recommend sait over sheridan.

Hows ur ielts score btw.

Yeah but Sait is offering a 2 year Diploma and I have done my graduation already. So my main worry about applying to SAIT is visa rejection. My IELTS score is 8 out of 9

Rahul first of all SAIT is highly reputed polytechnic college in alberta province and it offers only diploma courses ( Not the PG diploma courses). In your case you are already bachelors (3 years).
Secondly Sheridan(SPP college) is one of the best college in ontario province for " Animation and multimedia" courses. For you visa success rate will be really high because sheridan's one year PG course will show the necessary education upgradation (Which is important for the visa success). There are various students who have got visa for diploma courses, in that case your SOP matters a lot.So if you are looking for SAIT then make your SOP really strong that why are you moving to a diploma course after completing bachelors in the native country; So in this case little risk is there. So make decison accordingly.
Best of luck for your future.

Bro i think you should definatly apply to Sait as it is one of the most prestigious institute in canada. And moreover it cannot be compared to sheriden as it does'nt stand against sait in any way. the only worry is visa but i think a good sop would definetly cover it. And i have also done btech but will be applying in nait for jan session. It is risky but it is worth it and we would make it and don't get distracted by agents. In the end its ur choice.

Gud luck

Hi,

I cannot take chance with SAIT because if my visa gets rejected in any case I cannot wait for another year. On the other hand some of my friends in Canada said that Sheridan is especially renowned for their interactive multimedia course and they're known for good employment in this field. As a matter of fact Sheridan's bachelor in Animation is one of the best in the world.

So considering all possibility of PR I found that even with 1 year pgwp I can get job within 3-4 months apply for LMO and get work permit. Getting LMO in my field is something that I am concerned with right now but it seems that interactive developers do get easy LMO without the requirement of advertising the position during their PGWP.

After getting LMO approved I can work for that company and complete my 1 year Canadian work experience to apply through Canadian Express Class (CEC). If I am lucky enough I can also try for ontario pnp within the 1 year of my pgwp.

My life depends on this decision since I need to repay student loan. I would like anyone studying in canada including members of this forum to shed light on my decision and share your advise with me.

Thanks,
Rahul
