Hi guys,
I am sort of caught in a tempting fix here. My graduating degree is dentistry whereas the post graduation is Hospital administration. Now, my Canadian equivalency recognizes my post graduation as 4 years of bachelors in Canada. The experience I am claiming is under Hospital administration. What according to someone who might have faced similar problem, should be my option under education section- "Two or more degrees....." or "Masters degree or skilled profession requiring licensure (dentistry is regulated)".
I've chosen "Two or more degrees..." for now, just wanted to clear if i can claim those 7 points in EE by selecting ""Masters degree or skilled profession requiring license......"
Thank You :D :D

If you sent both of the degrees/diplomas/certificates to WES and the equivalency is only Bachelor's degree then you have to go with that. You can't claim for Masters and you can't claim for two or more degrees. If you'd like, you can contact WES to ask them to revise their assessment. Good luck!

The report says "Bachelors degree (4 years) and 5 years of professional study in dentistry"
I tried writing to them, the reply stated that there was nothing wrong with it so I stopped pursuing further. Man!!Are you saying I should just click on one degree?

Yeah looks like they're saying your 5 years of study is equal to a Canadian bachelors degree, so you have to say in your Express Entry profile that its a bachelors.

the ECA is to determine what your qualifications are equal to in Canada. You're trying to immigrate here, doesn't matter what they are anywhere else. Whatever the report says under Canadian equivalency, is what they're equal to in the Canadian education system. That's what they want to know.

i am aware of that fact and thanks for reminding. The four years bachelors they recognized is actually a Post graduation in India for which i am claiming points in the experience section as well. Now, why shouldn't I go for "Two or more degrees option...." if its there in the report itself. Strange!

because the gov agency that assesses credentials determined that your two degrees equal one 4 year bachelor's in Canada maybe?! and they didn't say "two degrees" or whatever under Canadian equivalency.

Your first post should have given all the information. It sounds like two more degrees or Professional degree needed to practice.

Hello everyone,

I am also in same situation, I did my veterinary science bachelors from India, did my WES evaluation which states Canadian equivalency to 5 years of professional study in veterinary medicine and I need licence to practice it. On other hand, I came to Canada in 2012 Jan as student to centennial college and graduated from food science diploma which is of 2 year duration (16 months: 4 semesters Fast track). Now when i made a EE profile i was unaware of extra points i get awarded and just made a profile by choosing bachelors to bachelors and diploma as diploma, i was stuck at 461. Later i realized from forum that i can claim points and made changes to my EE profile as Two or more degree option, suddenly my points bumped up to 481.

After reading this question, i went on to a page that one of our friend suggested in this thread http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp
and my human capital: Level of education in CRS calculation is 128 but i see 135 will be awarded if i choose professional degree needed to practice. I am applying under veterinary technician Primary NOC 3213 with 2 year of experience and other jobs i did falling under B category for a period of 1.5 year, since i am not currently licenced as veterinarian but still i am in the field and trying to clear my licence.

Please advice, if i can make improvement in points? please.

Thank you every one.
Rakii
