I am stucked and will appreciate any help. Here is my story.

My wife joined me in Canada last year through my open work permit and we are currently on work permit which expires mid next year. When I filled my express entry profile, I noticed that stating she will accompany me to Canada reduces my point, hence in my application, I stated that I AM MARRIED AND IN THE NEXT QUESTION, I ANSWERED THAT SHE WILL NOT ACCOMPANY ME TO CANADA. My intention is since she is already in Canada, I can go with that option and once I get my PR approved, I will quickly file in for inland sponsorship. I don't know if its a legal route to take? or what is my best option. I have been invited to apply but I am not sure if I should proceed or decline.

Hi there,
My advice, as I have read others advise (and what I did) is to include her in the application. So to answer the question "will she accompany you" you must select "yes". the points received per section do go down but not that much. The other thing is if you apply alone and then apply for her after, it will take much longer and her permit would have expired by then.

Search on the forum for advice. There are many threads you can tap into using the appropriate key-word search.

Hi Zimprincess,

Thanks for the information, I have tried searching with different keywords but unable to get useful information. What I am thinking is, once my R10 is passed, I will apply for work permit extension.

The sponsorship can take 2 years. Are you ready for that?
