My father is planning to invite my grandmother over from Russia. He has tasked me to find out whether she can digitally sign the needed documents. He tells me that there is a way to do so with Adobe acrobat or some such. The reason for this, is because the application needs to be on a certain paper format that my grandmother has no access to in Russia. As such, we were wondering if someone can provide some info on digitally signing documents. That way she can digitally sign them, email them to us, we print them off and send them to the embassy. Instead of us printing them, and sending them to her 1st. (Takes a while)

From what I have seen, you can use MyCIC to apply online. And you can do so by using the electronic signature. Did I get that about right?

Hi!

According CIC guidelines, you don't need to sign general application forms manually:
You do not need to sign your application form by hand if you submit your application form online. You will be asked to provide a digital signature once you are ready to transmit your documents to CIC.

But if you need to sign any other documents, you can try to use web service HelloFax. I was using for a while and there is an option to make a digital sign and to send it after by email or fax after. Maybe it will help?

Hi guys, trying to sign an application gives me this notice:"Your answer is incomplete. Provide the necessary information below to continue.
The name, date of birth or country of birth you entered for your signature does not match the name you entered in your Online Application. To submit this Online Application, the names must match. Only the applicant can electronically sign this Online Application."
But.. name is correct. Where can be a problem? How to adjust a digital signature?

you probably have written the name or any of the information they mention in a different way between the form you've uploaded or the given information in your MyCIC account.

I had the same issues, later to realize it was my birth day I wrote wrong in the PDF application. Some people had spaces after their names or some people made typos.

Make sure everything matches and upload the document again.
