My friend is about to submit her application but having issues with the digital photo. She went to walgreens but they only print the photos they can't give them to her on a cd or email them to her. How can she ensure the specs are correct if she scans the printed photo or are there any cheap photo places in the North Carolina where she currently lives that will give her a digital copy for upload?

Ask some one to take photo for her

Frame Size:
• The final frame size of the photo must be at least 35mm x 45mm.
• The photographs must show a full front view of the head and tops of shoulders, with the face in the middle of the photograph.
• The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31mm and 36mm.
• Digital dimensions are often expressed in pixels or DPI (dots per inch). The physical dimensions in pixels must be at least 420 x 540.
Quality/resolution:
• If an existing photo is being scanned, the minimum resolution must be 600 pixels per inch.
File Format:
• The file may be submitted in JPEG or JPEG2000 format.
• The final size of the image should ideally be 240 kB (kilobytes), but not less than 60 kB.
• The image must be in colour (24 bits per pixel) in RGB colour space, which is the common output for most digital cameras.

If photo does not satisfy CIC, You will be asked to submit a new photo and your application wont get rejected. (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/final.asp) found this info here.

Scan the passport photo with 600 dpi. Goto http://www.idphoto4you.com website, and select Canadian PR, and upload that photo. Make sure that head and crown are within two circles, and then finalize the photo, download and simply use it without bothering much. It will be above 60kb and the specified dimensions. That is all is required. Thanks to the member Farazfarzal for this tip.

And don't stress much on this as they don't reject anyone for photos. They will re request if they aren't suitable.

What do you write on the back for the photographer name and address?
