Hello - I work remotely and I wanna apply to the recently-released digital nomal visa. Been reading a lot about the matter online abd have come across a recommendation to apply for the "self-emoloyed" scheme/visa instead a normal 6-month visit visa. Can anyone help with recommending the best option here? Bearing in mind that 1) I have a Canadian sister there. And 2) I dont have any atheletic history as one of the requirments for the self-emoloyed visa. Appreci

What is your NOC? Self employment PR only accepts around 800-1000 per year including those from start up visa program. Processing is over 3 years. Read eligibility requirements. Canadian sister is of no benefit for the program. You need to show that you are internationally recognized in your work in the arts or sports fields.

Thanks a lot. I dont have any sports or arts field records. So shall I apply for the normal visitor visa and then perhaps find a job there within the 6 months? This is what I read is that I can actually apply for the PR if I found a job there, correct?

Self employment PR is only available to specific NOCs so you need to research the program. You can apply to PR if you are eligible. Having a job offer will not guarantee it. Plus you still need to find a job and get a work permit. You need to research Express Entry and PNP programs. So getting PR will depend on your education, work experience, funds, skills and language.
