difficulties with visitor visa

hi every one
I am applying for visitor visa, I have an invitation letter from my brother ,.
but I faced some : :
- proof of purpose of travel ! what are the possible documents that I can provide here?I still didn't buy a ticket cause I didn't have the okay yet.
-travel history ,,! I had been renew my passport and didn't keep the old one,so how can I show them my travel history?
- I have to fill only these :
Application for Temporary Resident Visa (IMM 5257) (PDF, 426.32 KB)
Family Information (IMM 5645) (PDF, 68.71 KB)
Document Checklist (IMM 5484) (PDF, 162.43 KB)

I'm I right??????? or I have to do these also :

Schedule 1 – Application for Temporary Resident Visa (IMM 5257 – Schedule 1) (PDF, 378.95 KB), if applicable
Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union (IMM 5409), if applicable

Hi Fatima,

Here's what you can submit....
Proof of Purpose of Travel:
a. Provisional air tickets (although not necessary): You can mention you will confirm these provisional tickets when you are granted a TRV, and

b. Itinerary: You must prepare a broad day-by-day itinerary listing places you will visit/activities you will do + with expense estimates.... and prove you have the finances for this itinerary


Travel History:
Do you have proofs of visas issued to you by other countries?

You can prepare an Explanation: My Travel History.... listing the details of visas of other countries issued to you + entry/exit dates for each visit + purpose of each visit.... in a table format


Your brother (as Host) must also provide: Copy of his passport/immigration status/NOA/T4/bank statement, etc

I'm going to see my brother and other family members .. can I write this instead of itinerary listing places i will visit/activities..?
Travel History: I'll do what you said thanks a lot..

If I'm going alone without my husband , do I have to fill : Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union (IMM 5409) ? and the use of representative is not mandatory right?

Hi Fatima,

You're welcome

A tourist is normally expected to do some sightseeing, meet friends/relatives, participate in some activities, etc..... hence, why a detailed Itinerary will show you are a typical visitor besides wanting to meet your brother and other relatives.

Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union is for people who are in common-law relationships.... as you are legally married, you must submit a copy of your marriage certificate. Some visa offices ask for this declaration. Do check the Application Guide if you must submit this form.

As you are submitting the visa application yourself, the 'Use of a Representative' form is not required
