Different Spelling of name in different documents

Hi everyone
I have a slight doubt. the spelling of my name is slightly different in some of the documents in my immigration file i.e in the mark sheets of my children my name is spelt with jeet instead of jit. would this be a problem and/or could this be a reason for rejection.
Any help will be highly appreciated

it cud be, better, submit an affidavit along with application which states the correct name.

Dont take chance mate, cause few minor mistake can hold your application in long que and in some cases you can get your application returned back to you...affidavit like hope bro has suggested be the best idea ...if you go on to amend all document it would be tiredest thing and will consume more time..

Though I suggest a slight change.

Collect all your documents PAN Card, Passport, School/college certificates, etc.
The name on your passport should be the name that you must use while u fill up your forms.
The affidavit should suggest that since this your name is derived from 'Hindi/Gujarati/Punjabi/etc' Jeet and Jit can be used interchangabily.
Lawyer or notary dealing with affidavits will be able to guide you. This is a common issue in India.
