We finally were able to submit our profile and we got the shock of our life. My wife is the primary applicant who holds a master's degree [ECA approved] and has IELTS score of
writing - 7 [CLB 9], reading - 8.5 [CLB 10], listening - 9 [CLB 10], speaking - 7.5 [CLB 10]. When we use the CRS calculator here, we get 472. But, when we submitted her profile, we got just 447. The 25 points that were missing have been marked in red below:

This is from CRS calculator:

Age = 95
Level of education = 126
Official Languages = 125
First Official Language = 125
Second Official Language = 0
Canadian work experience = 0
Subtotal - Core/Human capital factors = 346

Spouse factors

Level of education = 8
First Official Languages = 18
Canadian work experience = 0
Subtotal - Spouse factors = 26

Skill transferability factors

Education

A) Official Language proficiency and education = 50
B) Canadian work experience and education = 0
Subtotal = 50

Foreign work experience

A) Official Language proficiency and foreign work experience = 50 .. getting 25 points here
B) Canadian and foreign work experience B) = 0
Subtotal = 50

Certificate of qualification = 0

Subtotal Skill transferability factors = 100

Comprehensive Ranking System formula

Subtotal Core/Human capital + Spouse factors + Skill transferability = 472

Additional points = 0

Grand total = 472

Can someone help us as in where we are getting it wrong while submitting the profile? Since, we are getting 125 in the first language, IELTS score seems legit. She has close to 7 years of work experience

I think the reason you are getting 25 (not 50) points for this factor is your language scores. There seems to be a big difference between her score of 125, and your score of 18.

I suggest you try to improve your language score first (if possible). Then as your EE profile is created go and update the details for your language score (assuming you cleared the language thresholds with your scores).

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

What NOC codes are the 7 years of work experience under?

It needs to be three or more years NOC type B and above to get full points.

0112 Human resources managers 0
1121 Human resources professionals - A

Both NOCs are applicable - she became a manager a year ago, but has been working in NOC A for 6 years

Huh. Given that you were ok for the language in the Education/Language part of the transferability section, it looks like it has to be the work experience somehow.

Just by chance, what date did you put as her 'date that xxx became qualified to work in this NOC' question? Thats a bit of a stretch but the only think I can think of.

Date put was the end date of her master's education. Somewhere in July 2008.

I have withdrawn that profile and resubmitting. Sometimes, silly database errors occur and are hard to figure out [being a software engineer, can say that :)]. Hope it works this time.

btw, I know its resolved now, but for others that get this issue, just wondering, where did you check your CRS points, as often people use a 3rd party points checker, but CIC actually also have their own public "calculator" which I dont think they had at the start of EE:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

To use it, I had to pretend I had already got an ITA, as I think its a post ITA points checker, not quite sure how thats useful, but meh, I filled it in, and it helped me understand the breakdown of the points. Thoughts anyone?

This tool tells us the correct score - doesn't matter pre or post ITA. I calculated my score using this tool before I created my EE profile and I got 410. The score after creating my EE profile is, yea that's correct, 410.
